How it works

OnlyBills connects people with genuine bills to people who'd like to pay one. Here is exactly what happens, start to finish.

If you have a bill

  1. Upload. Take a photo or upload a PDF of an outstanding bill: electricity, water, broadband, mobile, gas, school or college fees, hospital bills and other genuine invoices.
  2. Check the preview. Our servers hide your name, address, phone number, account numbers and QR codes. You can hide anything else we missed before submitting.
  3. Get verified. A reviewer checks the bill. For many utilities, we confirm the outstanding amount directly with the biller.
  4. Go live. Your bill appears in the swipe deck. You'll be notified as sponsorships arrive.
  5. Get paid, the right way. Once it's fully sponsored, payment goes to the biller wherever supported. You'll see the confirmation in the app.

If you'd like to sponsor

  1. Swipe. Right means interested, left means skip, up opens details. Prefer buttons? Every gesture has one.
  2. Choose an amount. Cover the whole bill, or a part of it if the owner allows partial sponsorship.
  3. Review. See the amount and any payment fee before you confirm. Nothing is charged until you do.
  4. Pay securely. You'll complete payment on our provider's checkout. We never see or store card details.
  5. Track it. Follow the sponsorship from processing to confirmed to paid, and see refunds if the bill can't be completed.

When things don't go to plan

  • If a bill expires before it's fully sponsored, contributions are refunded to the original payment method.
  • If an owner withdraws a bill before it's paid, contributions are refunded.
  • If a payment is still processing, we hold that portion of the bill for a short time so nobody overpays.
